Hi. I'm new at this. I mean, I haven't done something like this in a while. Well, a few years. But things have changed. I'm better at commitment now. Perhaps it'll work better this time.

I started knitting a while ago. Like 6 months. I've crocheted for what seems like my entire life, but I've never finished anything larger than a hat. I have sweaters, hooks still attached, languishing in a draw somewhere. It just never worked.

I "taught" myself to "knit" several years ago. I could never figure out purling. Turns out, I was knitting continental but the videos and the photos couldn't tell me that, and it was awful.

But then my mom died. You know how people in NYC started knitting after 9/11? Well, I too was looking for mindless relaxation and an alternate focus. So I took a class, started holding the yarn in my right hand, and off we went.

So now I knit. I knit socks, I knit scarves, I knit cables, I knit gloves. I'll probably always crochet my hats. And I might never finish a sweater (though I've started a shawl, or two..)
